Through the last few months, the service learning that was conducted at the Zion Old Folk's Home was very enriching. It has taught me how to appreciate the people around, no matter how old. The elderly at the old folk's home were very delightful and this changed my initial perspective of them. I originally thought I was going to be wasting my time as I would not get alot of things done, due to the language barrier. But now, they bring a smile to my face.

During the service learning, there were many high points. The performance we put up was very enjoyable and I hoped the elderly there also felt the same way. The Bingo game we played was also very entertaining. There were not many downsides during service learning, but what i felt slightly concerned about was the fact that the elder started to lose interest in the activities we were doing. This really made things harder, but we pulled through as a class and still got the job done.
During my college or adult years, i may return to do some volunteer work in my free time. But this time, it would not be to volunteer at an old folk's home. I may choose to volunteer at an orphanage or boy's home. This way, I may be able to see how different people are like.
