How has the service-learning experience changed my thinking, attitudes, and actions towards others, myself and the community?

After all the visits to the old folk's home, I have come to an understanding that all living things, be it old or young, small or large or how big a difference it makes to our lives, is important. I see things in a whole new way now, and i have learnt to treat others with more respect.

What stands out as the best or worst thing that happened to you in your service learning experience? What did you learn from these experiences?

The best thing that happened was during our performance session. The happy look on their faces, as they moved to the groove of the beat made all our hardwork worth while.

Do you see yourself staying involved in the community during your college and adult years? Why or why not?

 

Yes, totally. I would continue to help out at these elderly homes and offer my services to less developed countries during my holidays.
