I think that the service learning has helped me understand that there are a lot of people that feel very lonely, especially the elderly, because they have very little friends. I have thus learnt to treat everyone kindly, so that they will be able to receive a little of my love, and feel that they are not lonely.
The best thing that happened was seeing the elderly enjoying themselves when we performed for them, or when we were teaching them to make paper cranes. There was once my classmate started to make a paper frog that can jump about when pressed, and the elderly had so much fun playing the paper frog, and they always smiled to me every time they managed to leap the frog successfully. I learnt that a little thing ,such as a frog, or helping others, can go a really long way.
Knowing that there are much more people out in the world who are less fortunate and needs help, I will definitely continue to stay involved in the community during my college and adult years.
